At Peer360 we realize your internal and external email
databases are vital to your growth and the databases you have are
unique to your company. In order for your email campaigns to
perform well over time, list building and cleansing are
essential. Here is an overview of proven methods and tips
used to grow your lists and keep them fresh and
effective.
List Building
Tell-A-Friend - Let your contacts do some of
the work for you. Including the Tell-A-Friend feature in your email
broadcasts allows your subscribers to forward relevant content to
their friends and allows them to sign up for your emails.
Share Buttons - Including share buttons within
your email broadcasts allows your subscribers to spread the word to
their entire network of friends via Facebook, Twitter and
LinkedIn.
Welcome or Opt-In Emails - This gives a contact
the opportunity the option to sign up for your emails. This works
best for referrals or contacts acquired from other sources, such as
email appends or events. Peer360 can help you setup a welcome email
to allow contacts to subscribe to your list.
Email Appends - This is a way to match names
and addresses to email addresses via a third-party vendor. Once the
email addresses are matched a welcome email should be sent asking
permission to sign up for your emails.
Co-Registration - Partnering with other
companies who are in the same market, but not direct competitors,
can help grow your list. For example, when someone signs up for a
newsletter with your partner company, they are then prompted to
sign up for your newsletter too.
Traditional - Don't forget you can also gather
email addresses at conferences, events, parties, word of mouth,
etc. Again, be sure to seek opt-in permission via a welcome email
before adding to your mailing list.
List Cleansing
In order to get the best email results, we put your list through
our cleaning process. When you upload your list into Peer360, our
system automatically removes duplicates and invalid email
addresses. If an email address is already in the system, it will
update any additional information included in your upload, such as
name, address, phone number, etc., to make sure the most recent
information is available within Peer360.
Bounce Analysis - When an email is
undeliverable it is marked as a bounce. Sometimes these bounces are
caused by the email address being bad or sometimes the receiving
server is down or busy. If you notice a high bounce rate for an
email, you should look into it further. If the cause of the problem
was due to a down receiving server, the bounces can be re-activated
and tried again. Peer360's support team can help you identify the
cause of large bounce rates.
